2 1/2 " 442 Exhaust tips

I've been looking for 2 1/2" exhaust tips for my 70. I couldn't find any other than the Pypes tips. I never considered them because they etch there logo at the top of the tips and I didn't want to see that on my car. Reluctantly I bought a set to see if I could remove the logo and went to work on them.
The results were perfect. No more logo and the stainless buffed up like chrome.

They did sell them that way originally, NO Logo, as well as the tailpipes separately, but...

Lets see em in the bumper.

FYI ~depth location. This is a 68-69 but 70-72 should look the same.

Is that 2 1/2 " past bumper a GM spec or personal preference ?

Thanks! I made them even with the chrome divider between the upper and lower tail/brake lights (if you looked up vertically from the tip. My exhaust is all custom not a kit. I ordered a couple kits and didn't like them so I went to an exhaust shop to get what I wanted. The front pipes are 3" back to the Pypes Race Pro mufflers and then the 2.5" tail pipes run back to the bumper from there.
I do not have an X or H either. I don't like the sound of the X pipes when they are installed on the older engines and haven't bought in to any value for an H-pipe....but that's just me based on my research and preferences.
