1978 Cutlass Supreme

Is there any legitimate interest in a car like this with a 260 SBO and a 5-speed manual transmission, factory original?

The manual trans makes it attractive.

That's what I thought. It's not mine. I just had a conversation with the owner today at his shop. He had his fun with it and now has other plans. He would like to sell it.

They don't bring lots of money and the 260 comes in at an earth shaking 110hp. The 5 speed is not going to stand up to any real hp. With that said, a good set of gears and a few bolt-ons here and there, would make it fun to drive.

Just to add to this, the five speed is a T50, not to be confused with the more common T5. The T50 may just be the only five speed trans that's WEAKER than a T5. The T50 is not common and hard to get parts for. Ironically, there was a vendor at Spring Carlisle who was selling a pair of T50 transmissions for $200 for everything.

They were still unsold by Sat afternoon...
