1975 Olds 98 Windshield Wiper Switch

i need to replace my windshield wiper switch. I have the part to replace it, but can I remove the ***** on the headlights, tempature, fan, and just take off the face plate? Or do I need to go underneath the dash?

The headlight **** is the most difficult. The rest just pull off with some force. They are simply pressed on.

The headlight switch has a release button that is behind the dash, you yes you have to get back there. You need to pull the **** out to the headlight on position, then hold the button down and pull the **** the rest of the way out.

And the face plate should just come out too when all the ***** are off?

You'll also have to remove the fan, AC, and lights and wiper ***** first. IIRC they pull straight off. The dash plate should be held by press in spring clips. I'd suggest rotate the AC vent to give a bit of pulling area to pry out the faceplate.
