1972 Cutlass Supreme convertible w/455 production numbers
My uncle just bought a well optioned '72 Cutlass Supreme convertible including factory 455 & automatic.
any thoughts on 455 'vert production numbers? more common with or without 442?
prior '72 numbers thread:

If your uncle is Paul, I've had a bunch of texts back and forth with him over the past couple days. The numbers I gave him are unpublished numbers from the GM archives so they're as good as we're likely to ever get.
Thru June 1972 with a few weeks of production left, 130,784 Supreme hardtops and convertibles (4200 series) were built. 3015 of these cars had the 250 net hp L75 455. 77 of the Supreme hardtops and 66 of the Supreme convertibles with this engine had the M20 4 speed (V Code), so deduct 143. That leaves appx. 2872 cars plus a few built in the final weeks of 1972 production. Some of these were 4 door Supremes too. Maybe a third of these ~3000 cars were convertibles?
The engine option data only exists for the full 4200 Supreme series with no breakdown by hardtop or convertible.
Hope this helps.

no, that must be someone else, my uncle still has a flip-phone
I found some GM of CANADA decodes for '72 Cutlass Supreme convertibles (34267)
805 total
701 w/L34 350 4bbl (87%)
74 w/L75 455 4bbl (9%)
30 w/L77 W30 455 4bbl (4%)
WARNING BAD MATH! * applying the same 9% to the total 11,571 convertible would give us an approximate ~1,041 L75 convertibles for '72
pretty close to your 1,005 car guess
