There are many "amateur " restorations done by someone who doesn't do auto restoration for a living .
That far exceed the quality and correctness of some so called " professional " restorations .
As I said , " professional restoration " is an ambiguous term .

totally agree with this statement! And I am one of those amateur restorers. Farm out the stuff you can’t do that need a special skills, like final paint in my case, and do the rest yourself. If you take your time, use the manuals, and pay attention to details your car will look as good or better as any pro job. And you will know your car from end to end and can then fix anything on it.

I am never one to dis others efforts on their car. They can build to their tastes. I love seeing different ideas. The real crime with this car in question is the statements they make about it being anything original after being modified so much. It’s really a custom. Hopefully they are not trying to sell this car to the “original” crowd cause it ain’t gonna fly.

Agreed, but my point is the quality of this cars work, not correctness , are damn good..could an amateur do all this as well? Its always possible but then again if so I would hardly call them amateur as to do a job like this takes practice..I have done a couple of my own , did all the bodywork, mechanical, didn’t spray the paint tho. Mine are very nice but admittedly I don’t have the patience for such detail.

I agree there is a difference between good body work, paint, trim work that is not technically correct, and correct work done badly.
