1970 442 w30 oil tube decal question

I Ordered the TS decal from Dr. decal for my 70 car oil fill tube, it came in as black letters on white decal paper. I see on many cars there a white label with red letters and some are white label with black letters? Which one is correct and why out of curiosity?
Thanks..

Good question.

My understanding was that factory documentation showed red on white decals, but cars were delivered with black on white. If that's wrong, I am assured that many will jump to give us the real story.

Interesting. Not that it means anything, but I just checked the Fusick catalog. They only sell red on white.

If my memory serves me well, PIM calls out red letters on white background.

The pim calls for red letters. However, they were not red for 1970 w30. The decal should be white with black letters and should have a part number.

Thats exactly what they sent me. Thank you. As soon as I get it back together will post a couple pics. Just did an engine clean up and paint with engine in the car..

So only 70-442 W30's originally came with black letters on white background? Red letters on white background for all 442's?

Could the change in color be a running production change due to a change in supplier?

Sounds more 1970 W-30 specific to me.
