1969 Dealer Album

Well, I was surfing the national yard sell known as Ebay over the weekend, searching for that ever elusive item that I don't really need and I ran across a 1969 Oldsmobile Dealer Album. This is the album the salesmen on the showroom floor used to show paint and interior options. It even has fabric samples. Way cool!

I won! So it's now mine.

It'll make a great addition to my 69 Cutlass S trunk display.

I'll post pictures once it arrives.

Be very careful with that and do NOT leave it unattended in your trunk. Hate to say it, but I know of numerous 64-72 C&F and Product Selling Info albums that sprouted legs while their owners were not at their vehicle. And yes, that has happened at Olds National Meets. These books are expensive and I guess just too tempting for common-*** rogues.

Good point! Maybe I'll just leave it on my desk. I bought it as a reference as much as for an addition my small collection of Oldsmobile stuff.

Pretty neat score there To me it's all cool and interesting but the best part is, if it has any is the dealer bulletins. The one from the '75 book I have came with a few bulletins. The best one being about rumors about catalytic convertors causing more fires than any pre- '75 models that didn't have catalytic convertors and the "rotten egg" smell sometimes emitted from catalytic convertors.

Those are usually in a separate binder "Service Guilds and Technical Bulletins". I was fortunate to get many years SG/TB from the Charlotte NC Zone Service office when it closed. Invaluable info in those things.

I got my 1969 dealer album and Wow! It's really neat! I also started looking for the Service Guides and Technical Bulletins that were mentioned earlier. I already found and purchased a binder with the 1971 model year guides and bulletins. I am going to try to pick up the 1970 and 1972 Bulletins as well.

These binders are both informative and entertaining.

It's official. I am an Oldsmobile fanatic.

That is why my rednose pitbull Butch sits shotgun at all shows & events. Even badges have been known to walk.
So Go ahead reach in, or stand real close, maybe sit on it with your blue jeans really it's ok he won't bother you.
It works trust me Butch don't play.
