1968 Cutlass Wheel Wells

Good evening,

Does anyone have any suggestions to cleaning up the wheel wells in my 68s engine bay? I was thinking about using a drill with a buff type of attachment and lightly trying to get a cleaner look? Thank you either way!!

Are they plastic?? If so be careful. My 71's are plastic. I went to clean them up with cleaner and a scotch brite ad. Looked great while wet but then after dried, I found I had scratched them badly! Looked like crap!

If it's because they have turned chalky a MAP torch lightly passed over them does wonders

If they are plastic you can use a Scotch Brite pad on them to start but then you have to use progressively finer sandpaper on them and finally buff them with a DA polisher and compound. There are plenty of YouTube videos on doing this and a few threads. Here's a place to start.
