1968 Cutlass firewall tag info. Thanks
005457 600205 = Tracking codes unique to the Fremont plant (these apparently are keyed to numbers on the build sheet)
ST 68 = Style 1968 model year
34287 = Oldsmobile (3) Cutlass Supreme (42) Holiday Coupe (87)
BF = Fremont, CA assembly plant
01401 BODY = Fisher Body sequence number
TR 989 = Teal bench seat with armrest interior (Supreme upholstery pattern)
B80 = chrome drip rail moldings (standard equipment on the Supreme)
CF PAINT = Provincial White (C) lower body color with Teal Frost (F) upper body color
That's a sharp looking car in a relatively unusual color combo. Interesting that the buyer selected to downgrade to the L65 2bbl motor (a $33.70 credit). The standard engine in the Supreme that year was the L74 4bbl 350 motor.
The paint code shows that it was a two-tone painted car, not a vinyl top. The same chrome trim was used for both.
Holiday Coupe was just Olds marketing speak for 2dt hardtop. There were 37,663 Supreme Holiday Coupes built in the 1968 model year, so not particularly rare. Enjoy.
Any 52 year old car is special to have made it this far, but, if you've got to make a clone, this would be the one to do it with as that 2 barrel is going to impress no one.
Obviously it's your car and build it the way you want, but personally, EVERY Olds A-body is now a H/O or W-30 clone. It's like 69 Camaros at any general car show. ZZZZZZZZ.....
I think the teal interior and two tone are very cool and unusual. I'd do the engine and suspension upgrade and keep the 60s vibe colors and interior, but that's just my opinion. My 62 F85 wagon is a rusty turd, but it gets way more attention at cruise nights and even on Power Tour because it's unusual and not another clone. Your call.
