But what are the chances of having a bad tri-carb head and replacing it with another head off of a tri-carb car

Exactly. So so many flags for that kind of money. What's the term when people over pay for a car? Stupid money. But hey if the buyer just thought it looked cool and didn't care about details. Think of many cars 10 times more correct and original could have been had for that price.

My thoughts exactly, if you had to replace the head, would the factory actually replace it with a T stamped head? I seriously doubt it as they are no different than a regular 442 head..My guess is that T is just so the factory worker knew a tricarb went on that engine. Its just odd that the head is wrong yet stamped..who knows..still a beautiful car.

My 66 documented tri carb had an engine ID of V111xxx and a build date of 02B- 2nd week of Feb,66.. So if that BAT car had an ID of 104xxx and my car had a 111xxx,that would mean there were appx. 6K tri carb cars built in 2 1/2 months. There were 2100 total tri carb cars built total production over 8 months for an average of 175 cars per month. My point is the head on the BAT was stamped with the T after the engine was assembled by someone other than a factory worker.
