With over 247,000 Jetstars, Dynamics, and Starfires produced in 1964...why is it so hard to find a good rear bumper

Because of some designer's brainfart in Olds' effort to hide all the fasteners!

If you've ever looked close at the back side of a 64 bumper (62-68 for that matter) you've seen how the bracket mount is welded to it with only a dime-sized hole to drain water, mud, snow slush etc that gets trapped behind it. That stuff stays in there for a few years, next thing you've got a bumper rusting out from the back side.

Alot of these bumpers are also damaged because they used bumper jacks. The rear bumper from my 64 98 is folded in half. Most likely due to a fall off of a bumper jack.

This bumper went off auction on Ebay last week...I thought I saw another one, maybe not as nice, around the same time for less money. They're out there. Just not necessarily cheap!
