1964 Cutlass 330 to 455 swap

Hey everyone, i know different angles of this topic have been covered, but i had to ask away on a few things. My current set up is a stock 330 with power brakes/steering, no ac, automatic 2 speed ST-300 switch pitch transmission, stock rear end. I have the chance to buy a low miles stock 1969 455 olds motor with CA heads on it, only changes made are a msd hei dizzy, Edelbrock Performer rpm manifold, pulled from a 69 Delta 88, and heres what's on my mind with this swap that i hope a few people could help me answer.
1. Will my current motor mounts work with the 455?
2. Can i use accessory brackets off my 330 for the alternator and power steering to go on the 455?
3. Will my 330 water pump be efficient enough and bolt up to the 455,or will i need to run diffrent lower radiator hose/get new radiator ( 1964 has that one year only water pump with lower outlet on the other side i believe)
4.Will i have any issues bolting this 455 to my ST-300 2 speed automatic transmission, little concerned about this, hope theres no issues?
5. Any other clearence issues or anything i might be missing here with this swap?

Wanna reach out and say thanks for all that take the time to respond to my post, this has been an outstanding forum to be a part of,and im looking forward to hearing from alot of you, thanks! Happy Holidays!

Numbers 1,2 are both yes. I'm not sure about the 1964 only water pump, someone else will have to chime in. Then #4, the 455 will bolt up fine but depending on how you drive it you may want to upgrade to a TH400 at some future date. The 1965 has a similar engine compartment and the 442 came factory with a 400 engine. The outside dimensions of the 400 and 455 are the same. So swapping a 455 into your 1964 should be pretty simple project. If it gets hot in the summer where you live it may need a bigger radiator or better shroud & fan to keep it cool.

Long term, you may want to investigate having your radiator modified and move the radiator hose port to the other side. Then you can use the more common water pumps.

Sounds great John, all things i wanted to hear! And i think your right about that transmission swap in the future, more than 2 forward speeds would be a blessing.I use the car for cruises and every once in awhile I'll roll out to a car show, she's well taken care of! Thanks for your time, much appreciated

Read this thread about motor mounts. It is a bolt-in.

The BBO did not exist in 1964. The 1964 330 accessory mounts are unique to the SBO and will NOT fit a BBO. You will need to modify them where the deck height difference matters. Alternately, get 1965 BBO accessory brackets. Unfortunately, those may not work with the 1964 water pump and timing tab.

The 1964 water pump will work just fine on the BBO. You will need to transfer the unique 1964 timing tab and you will need to re-scribe the balancer to match the new timing tab location. Alternately, use the 1965-up pump, brackets, balancer, and timing tab and change the radiator to match. You will need a larger radiator anyway.

The Junkaway trans bolts directly to any 1964-1990 Olds V8. Be aware that the 1965-66 442s that used the Jetaway behind the BBO used HD versions of that trans. You are also penalizing yourself with the 1.72:1 first gear (as opposed to 2.48:1 in a TH400 or even 2.52:1 in a TH350).

Use the W/Z exhaust manifolds from a later 442. Get a bigger radiator. Everything else will be fine.

Thanks big time Joe for all the great info, very helpful! By any chance could a guy get a couple links posted to this in regards to the correct brackets i need to pick up, say off of ebay? That would be extremly helpful. Im aiming at going the route of a new radiator, keeping the 455 water pump on it,and crank pulley, my only regards is to how i should handle the alternator and power steering pump brackets/locations. This seems to be the only issue im very currious about, would switching over to 69 455 alt/power steering pump work, with 455 brackets obviously? Keeping everything as far as brackets and accessories matching the 455? Just thinking out loud here, thanks for your time everyone, sorry for all the darn questions

You MUST use brackets, pulleys, and water pump as a matched set. You can keep the 455 brackets, however the narrower frame of the 64-67 cars can make the low-mounted PS pump a little tight. It does fit, however. Alternately, any 1965-67 BBO bracket set will bolt right up also.

The 330 flexplate will not bolt up to the 455 so you will need a 68 up BB or SB Olds flexplate.

Joe, thank you for correcting my mistake on the brackets. I've got a 1964 Cutlass project with a 455 but the previous owner did the swap and likely used the 455 brackets.
