I know this is not exactly the correct place to post this question.

Around 2007/2008 I was loosely in volved with a 1955 Cadillac A5 compressor seal rebuild thread.

I thought I had saved the thread but I guess not.

Any suggestions on how to locate the thread after all these years?

I need to rebuild my leaking 1955 98 seal.

This thread would apply to olds/pontiac/buick/chevy a5 compressors.

To clarify.

The thread 1955 Cadillac A5 compressor seal rebuild was posted on what I thought was the modified Cadillac site/forum but I can not find it there or a couple of other Cadillac sites or searching the net in general.

Oldsmobile was my first love and then an I accidentally bought a 1956 Cadillac flower car thus I hang out with Cadillac folks as well.

I hung out with Cadillac people from the early 2000's which predates my 2018 here.

So my question is still how to find a thread that I can not find but need the info from?

It depends on how the other site/s are setup. On here for instance, you would go to your User Profile page and click on Statistics. Then you would click on Find all posts by <username>.

 

You can also use Google if you know the URL of the site you had the information on.

As an example, this is how you would use Google to find this post on our site...

Type (without quotes), "site:classicoldsmobile.com A5" On my computer, this thread is result 6.

It is not the 1955 Cadillac thread that has some more details but I suggest anyone with a A5 a/c compressor seal issues to download and save the information that oldtank has kindly provided.

Note the 1955 and early 1956 Cadillac a/c compressor seal is unique and this thread is aimed at that series of a/c compressors. However it might provide insight into 1956 thru 1961 series of a/c compressor seal rebuilding.
