14" X 7" SS1 wheel trim rings - Correct Style?
1970-71 SS1 Wheels - Could someone please tell me , with the correct SS1 trim ring, how much of a gap is there between the trim ring base and the face of the wheel. Is the SS1 trim ring supposed to extend to the face of the whe (with a very minimal gap say 1/8”) similar to a SSII wheel trim ring or is there about 3/8-1/2 gap?
thanks
thanks

HI DEL
From what I have been able to find trim rings on SSI and SSII 14x7 are / were the same. About 3inches from inside , innermost edge to the corner.
14x6 were closer to 2inches
I dug out my stacks of trim rings today. There are 2 different mounting clips / styles.

^ looks like you have two different valve stem holes as well. I have a variety of trim rings too. Most seem to have the oblong hole others have more of a round hole. Not sure if one is more right than the other or if it was different suppliers at different times and/or different plants.
Also the lips can be different. Yours look like mine with the ridge in it, instead of just a smooth transition to the lip
