With the '68 & '69 SS1 threads running, I thought we needed another.

My uncle has a '71 W25 442 that he remembers sitting in a local dealer's showroom when new. It had/has "all chrome" 14x7" SS1s. I've heard stories that these were used part of the year due to UAW strikes & were used in limited numbers.

What's the real story, who knows the facts??

 

I've heard the same story, that there was a production of all chrome 14X7 SSI wheels for the '71 production year. I've never seen any, though. I'm just as curious as hurst68olds!

1971 was the only year 14x7 chrome SSI's were available. 69 and earlier SSI's were 14x6 only.
