Turn Signal Switch - 1968

Hey all!

1968 442 with factory 3-spoke sports wheel... I'm looking to replace the turn signal switch and this will be my first time doing so >.<
I have a Chilton's American Car manual from 1974 that has an excellent Cutlass/F85 section but it seems that they forgot just about all photos relevant to the removal of the wheel, and the process of taking the old switch out...

Would anybody be able to point me in the direction of a thread with good, relevant photos, or possibly to a video? Point me in the direction of anything, really (haha). Thanks a bunch!

Buy a 1968 Olds Chassis service manual. You will not regret it. Others here can help with specifics for this car.

Remove the horn button-then remove nut in center of wheel with 3/4 inch wrench or socket-use puller tool with fine threaded bolts screwed into steering wheel-remove wheel-remove Philips screw holding turn signal stalk-remove turn signal stalk- remove screws holding turn signal switch in place (two dark Philips screws)-under dash, unplug signal wiring from main harness- gently pull up on signal switch while feeding end of plug up inside the column.

Been a while since I've done one of these but I seem to remember attaching a string or wire to the old signal wiring so I could pull the new one back down too???

You could do that, not really necessary.

Last time I did one, I learned to seat the screws equally as you tighten down.
