Under hood light

Where does the under the hood light tie in to the wiring harness? Or does it go to the power takeoff relay on the drivers side?

On a 70 Cutlass it's wired to brown (side markers) with a connector very close to the engine bay connector below the brake booster.

* Only when lights are on
* Only when hood is openend (mercury switch)

See my signature, it's right/above the fuse panel.

Had a look, I have no picture at hands.

You'll find it, use a flash light and look down the rear driver side corner of your engine bay around the booster. It's a standard one prong snap-lock GM connector in black - on a '70 Cutlass, that is.

Actually, it's that way on all 68-72 Cutlii. It's a single wire with a single rectangular Packard 56 connector (female plastic connector body with a male spade terminal inside it). As noted, look under the booster.

Thanks again. The reason I couldn't find it is because when I was rebuilding things a couple of years ago, I put the connection behind the firewall. Took part of the ac ducts apart and there it was. Fished it out through a firewall grommet and it works fine.
