72 Cutlass Postive Battery Cable Replacement Help

So decided to replace the positive battery cable on my 72 Cutlass 350. It was not easy, but was able to get the old cable off and the new one on without have to drop the starter. the problem is when I went to hook up the positive cable to the battery, the car immediately started turning over with no key in the ignition. The cable does not appear to be grounding anywhere and the only thing that seems out of the ordinary is that there is a wire connecting to the same post on the solenoid that goes up to the alternator. I swear it was there when the old positive cable came off. Prior to me tackling this, the care was starting and running fine. Thank you in advance for your help.

You shorted a part of the new cable to the "S" terminal on the solenoid.

Look carefully.

Thanks that definitely helps. Going to drop the starter next weekend so I can get a better look. Was so damn close to getting this done without having to do that.
