AM/FM Radio help
Hi, brought a Wonderbar AM/FM radio from a 69 B-body(model #93BFW2) and wondering if there is any special work I am going to need to do to make it work for my 70 442? Visually looks very close to the 70, and any help with differences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the help.
there might be some visual differences, mostly the *****, there were a few different types. If it was a AM/FM mono unit and you only have the one main piece then you are ok. If it is a true 69 stereo I believe they had an additional amplifier like the ones from 1970. On the a-bodies those amplifiers mounted up near the glove box. Once mounted in the car you'd never know though anyway
The problem with B-body car radios is the fact that the heat sinks are on the passenger side of the unit and when you try to install them into a Cutlass the heat sinks hit the brace that is along side the glove box...so you would have to bend or cut the brace to solve the interference...
