Help needed with AC wiring, relay and resistor
Help needed with AC wiring, relay and resistor
I have a few questions, Im still working on the heat ac system in my 69 442
Pic-1 Can someone identify the pins on the blower relay. The connector is missing and I dont know which wire goes where.
Pic-2 shows 3 wires which I believe go to relay, can someone please confirm
Pic-3 shows the 2 connectors which I believe go to the resistor, please confirm
Also, the resistor is gone and I cant seem to find one. Ive tried Fusick, Rockauto and napa. any other suggestions. Fusick has one for a non ac car, does anybody know what the difference is?
Thanks very much
Rob
PS I hate wiring!

Rob,
Pic 1 – I don’t remember which terminal is which but you can still buy the replacement three wire connector from Four Seasons, part #37203.
I will try and find a relay and get back to you.
Pic 3 – That is the connectors for the resistor. The resistor for the non A/C car only has three connections.
Pic 2 – Here is an explanation of the wires and colors.
At the relay there should be a 12gu red wire that comes from the junction on the horn/buzzer relay and has a 30A fuse inline.
The purple wire goes directly to the blower motor, the blue wire goes to the single connector on the blower resistor.
These three go together in the three wire connector.
The black/orange wire comes from the blower switch. This is the wire that activates the relay to give maximum hi blower. This wire goes on the single terminal of the relay.
What I do is to remove the cover on the relay and using the diagram you can tell where each wire goes on the relay.
Here is a diagram that will help.
