Gauges - questions thoughts ('70 Cutlass)

So I am building my '70 Cutlass to be reliable, solid and semi-original. Semi-original means, keeping the bench, keeping the 350 rocket, carb, factory AC, oem look wheels, etc, but upgrades where it makes sense. When I bought the car, I discovered the fuel gauge was shot and the PO or the one before him, put in a aftermarket fuel gauge.
So I will have to replace that. Additionally mine came with the clock (not sure if it is working....probably not). I do not like idiot lights and many times they will go off when it is almost to late. I am thinking should I go with the Rallye Gauge Pack (it is just a general sweep set) or get a OEM replacements for the gauges that are not working (Fuel) and go with an under the dash (or maybe something unique where the ashtray is) mount and put in a trio set with mechanical oil and water, with the third being volt and maybe a vacuum gauge for fun.

What are your thoughts on the rallye gauge pack and is it worth it at $500 about for the set + wiring that is a chunk of change I can use elsewhere. I am not sure if it is outside of the tach, even then I am not racing this just driving it so is a tach even needed? I have one in my '74 Nova, but that is 100% setup for drag racing and the tach is used (well, really everything is on the control boxes).
Or stick with a clock (ideally working).

I installed a tach and gauges back in 1981 and have become so accustomed to having them that I don't think I could drive without them.

That's a great photo.

M&H probably has a plug and play harness to do the swap all factory like.
I fixed a 62 clock, once. It was fun, but I had a spare for parts and reference. It had a little solenoid that would kick the winding mechanism when the contacts closed. If you don't drive the car much, it WILL drain the battery. Use a good trickle charger.
