No spark on 72 Cutlass

I am the new owner of a 72 Cutlass 4door, I have no spark, the car came with multiple plug wire sets and distributor caps, papers of the firing order, it’s got two coils loose on top the engine, he’s got a new coil with the old coil and bracket/condenser still attached. This all tells me he was having ignition issues and gave up. I have 5volts at the coil with key on, no spark at plugs, timing seems to be correct, could it be as simple as new points?

Still had an intermittent once in a while ignition miss. Replaced the distributor cap and now the ignition is rock solid. Amazing how much of what I knew in 1970 I had forgotten.

When I got my 72 cutlass the battery had the screws and not the post. No solid connection. Bought a new battery with the posts. Problem solved
