Courtesy light question..

Hi all,

Is there something that goes on top of the courtesy light under the dash, I noticed 2 slot near the socket, are they used to hold something?

71 442

Thanks

Interesting, I'll have to look to see if my 70 has those cutouts on either side of the bulb. Hmmm
I didn't know of anything

There’s nothing on my 71 Cutlass, just the exposed bulbs.

I'm sure that was the intent; to have something cover the bulbs, but none of my cars had anything there either. I've burned my hands plenty of times to prove it too - those little bulbs get hot
