67 am-fm radio

67 am-fm radio

looking to replace am to fm in 67 442. have radio and amp, but dont know where amp mounts. any help would be app.

In the '68 and '69 A-bodies, the "amp" (aka "multiplex unit") is mounted above the glove box. By "amp", I'm assuming you have an original AM-FM stereo unit and not an AM-FM mono unit with a rear speaker option.

Just curious as to if your car is an A-body or if it is an 88, 98 or Toronado, as AM-FM stereo wasn't offered in the A-body until '68 or '69. The stereo option was available in the bigger cars in '67. The '67 AM-FM stereo unit won't fit in a '67 A-body car unless modifications are made.

The non-stereo big car radios will also not fit in the A body of that year.
