1969 Cutlass wiring

Hi Olds fans, Just a quick question about the wiring of the washer/wiper setup from a 1969 Cutlass, on the light blue and dark blue wires there is a squiggly line on both these wires and I'm not sure if this is a resistor or diode or some other kind electrical component (I attached a schematic diagram). Also I'm not sure what kind, if any, is the black and brown checked wire from the coil is (see schematic diagram). Thanks in advance for any information of these wires.

The squiggly lines are solenoid coils internal to the wiper motor drive and washer fluid pump assy. The windshield wiper switch on the dash supplies ground signals to complete the circuits and there is 12v to the motor and washer circuits anytime the ignition key is on.

The black and brown checked wire is the ignition resistance wire.

Sorry I was multitasking and missed the other question. Power to the wiper motor and washer is supplied through the yellow wire.

And as Yellowstatue stated the checkered wire is the resistance wire that powers the ignition coil+ when the key is on.

Thanks for the information, the guy who owned the car before me just over road the wiper switch with a toggle switch, so I'm trying to get the wiring correct to avoid any problems. I have already replaced the washer and wiper assemblies thinking that maybe the old ones had shorts in them that caused the bypass wiring and now want to be sure of the proper wiring setup.

wiper washer- correct wiring?
