Hoping someone can help me sort this one out. This is one of the last gremlins from the restoration. I have been driving the car for a couple of years. Obviously not in the rain. Car is a 72 Cutlass w/2speed wipers. The wipers are hideaway on this model. I do not think the motor is origional. There are 2 wires that come out of the motor, (yellow & light green) that do not have a corresponding connector in the harness. See pic. I have looked at wiring on other 72 motors that do not have these extra 2 wires. The wires were all taped together prior to the restoration and the wipers worked well. Here is the problem. With the wires connected as in the picture:
Motor runs on low speed in the off position.
Motor runs normal on low speed and high speed.
Have you found out where the yellow and green wire go? I have the same problem on my car. Where your wire looks green my looks blue. I have tried hooking these up to where I believe they go, but it just blows the fuse. My washer does not work. Any ideas would be appreciated.
The yellow wire is power from the fuse box. It goes to a relay and powers the light blue wire. The light blue wire goes to the wiper switch then to ground. Also as you can see the yellow wire splits and goes to the washer. The dark blue wire goes to the switch also. I dont have a green wire...

Samson, I know this is an old thread but did you end up finding a solution to that yellow & green wire issue ???? I've got the same problem in working out where they go.
35Olds. I cannot remember how I worked this out this out. Here are some current pics and everything works. I vaguely remember something about there being a difference in later model wiper motors and maybe I had a later model motor that didn’t need those 2 wires. In hope the pic helps and good luck.
