Dash Bulbs
I have a 1983 Olds Custom Cruiser wagon with some burned out instrument panel bulbs. Are these bulbs replaceable? And if so how easily can they be accessed? Also, does any one out there know the bulb size and type without having to dismantle the dash panel first?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The bulbs are 194s. You need to remove the face plate from the dash, then the plastic instrument carrier to access the bulbs. You will need to remove the headlight switch **** to get the face plate off and you will have to unclip the speedo cable from the back of the speedometer to get the carrier out. Be aware that the face plate has tabs that snap into metal clips on the carrier. These tabs break easily, as do the features on the carrier that hold the metal clips. It's likely that some of them will already be broken from age (these were not the finest-quality plastic materials...). Also watch for flying metal clips, as they often come loose when you remove the face plate.
