Parking light not working

Was doing a pre nys inspection check of my lights and noticed my drivers side parking light was out on my 1972 cutlass convertible .confirmed the bulb was good , and the signal light does work . There is only a blue and brown wire going to the fixture , the brown being the ground and the blue being power . If I hook my test lead to the blue wire coming out of the harness and to ground ,shouldn't it light up when I pull on the light switch? I get a very faint glow on the test light .where do I go from here . Btw all other lights are working fine. Thanks

You go to the opposite lamp after verifying a proper ground to the one that does not work. They are hooked in parallel.

Correction, the passenger light is powered off the drivers light. Check to see where the wires are spliced together, if you have side markers, the left side is spliced there also.

Both grounds look good .im curious why the signal light works but not the parking light it appears they both get power from the same wire . Guess I need to start tracking it upstream .

ok got this figured out had some bad connections and some miswiring by the previous owner ,found them inside the wiring harness .the blue wire coming from the firewall runs power to the signal lights and a brown wire in the same harness runs the parking lights and side marker lights all the connections are made inside the harness.i cleaned all wires and soldered them properly then shrink tube and electrical tape .and correction from above the brown wire is not the ground as i originally thought .the ground is through the housing itself bolted to the bumper .
