Cadillac fuel data module question

I went to the junk yard today and found an 85 Fleetwood brougham with the 307. There's a few engine parts I'm gonna grab from it. I had also found the fuel data box in the interior.

Does anyone know how it worked? Did those cars come with a different ecm than the b-bodies with the olds 307? Was there a separate computer for it? The curiosity bug has bit me.

If it's a car with an Olds 307 then it should have a Computer Controlled Carburetor (a fancy Q-jet) on it. I had a 1990 Buick Estate Wagon with a 307. The CCC Q-jet uses a mixture solenoid to control the primary rods.

GM Type 1 computers were pretty primitive.

Never heard of this before, but did the Caddy have one of those 1980s-vintage dash computers that showed fuel mileage, instantaneous mileage, etc? If so, this "module" is likely just a flowmeter to provide that input to the dash computer so it could calculate mileage and in no way connects to the CCC system.

Joe it didn't have a digital dash but did have a separate module. I'll take a pic of it. Had I listened to my buddy who spotted the car for me he said the emission sticker said 4100. Clearly it was swapped for an olds motor.

I looked on the caddy forums and those were only used in the efi cars. So to answer my own question it won't work.

Here it is. Only works with efi cars like the 4100 and the v8-6-4.

On another note anyone have the rally pack gauges for an 84 delta 88 they want to get rid of?

Which would be exactly the "dashboard computer" I described above.

Wow, blast from the past! I didn't even know Cadillac used those computers.
