Tic-Toc-Tac with MSD Ignition??
#2
If the MSD has a conventional tach output, just connect that to the Olds tach. If not, then contact MSD. The Olds tach simply needs an output that mimics that of a coil. The factory HEI does that on the TACH terminal. Most aftermarket electronic ignitions also have a similar output.

I would like to bring this topic up again if I may?...
I have the same set up on a 71 with MSD dist. and 6AL box. I ran the tach terminal from the 6AL directly to my factory tach and its reading about 1/2 of where is should be. So I purchased a tach adapt. from MSD and now it reads double where is should be. I have tried to adjust the tach in both cases but cant get it to read correctly or even close. Any ideas here?
Thanks much,, Reg

My 69 with the tic-toc-tach works fine with HEI, MSD 6AL and points (obviously) if the Rach worked ok before and reads high with the MSD I'd question the ignition box. Borrow another Rach and conpare.
