Yellow/Blue wires connected to intake throttle solenoid...

Yellow/Blue wires connected to intake throttle solenoid...

Where do the yellow and blue wires connected to the electric solenoid on the throttle solenoid up on the intake go to?

Actually- what does that electric solinoid up on the intake connected to the throttle linkage do anyway?

I now own a 1964 F-85 with underhood fire damage and cannot find any info regarding this piece.

Well it could be a fast idle solenoid. Does it appear that the solenoid provides a stop for the throttle? Just taking a stab at it. Hope someone can get a more definitive answer for you. Welcome to CO if I haven't already done so.

If it's a Jetaway-equipped car it's the transmission's control switch. It controls the switch-pitch torque converter angle and the electric downshift.

You need a 1964 factory shop manual set. All this is covered in those manuals.

Smile "switch pitch"

well you must have the original 2spd. Jetaway(junkaway). Those wires go from the transmission to the throttle linkage. What that is,is called Switch pitch .now I don't know all the specifics on what it does has something to do with lower gears or stall. I unhooked mine because my jetaway felt like it was slipping and it fixed the problem. That should get you started. Go under the tranny section and ask the senior members. The one cool thing I have figured out about the switchpitch is those know it all gearheads at car shows have no idea what it is. Never heard of it. Man I was born 30 years to late. Good luck

Ok,

So is there a way to make the trans work without these pieces or wires?
