IDK about that painless set-up but my 72 has an M&H harness. it plugs right in and is an exact fit and color harness. there are others besdies M&H

What parts are bad on your original wiring? Front to back all bad or just under the dash or? I would not get that harness. There are exact replacement harnesses but are more money. Is this a driver or a restored car or? There are many of us here that may be able to help with nice used harnesses for much less money.

the original was not in that bad of shape just a few wies that had to be replaced and extra wries pevious owners added that needed to be taken out. but unfortunatelly the original is no longer an option because i no longer have it. the guy who was helping me do it has it with him and i cant get in contact with him to retrieve it

Pretty sure the underhood harness is the same for standard and Rally Pac gages. The dash harness is different.

Don't worry, right after you sign for the delivery, the guy with your old harness will call you.

How true! The easiest way to find something is to replace it or not need it anymore. Pretty sure thats one of Murphy's Laws!

Used American Auto Wire on my 40 Ford and was impressed with the quality and instructions that came with the kit. They also make some OEM kits for car listed on their site. I will be going with them on my 55 Olds build.

just an observation from the wiring kits i've seen installed in cars, at shows, recently...

the alternator output wire is seriously undersized at what appears to be 14 awg. that would work ok for a 37 amp alternator, but certainly not for anything much larger.
