How bad is the harness currently in the car. I've found them easy to cleanup and repair and rewrap if they have not been totally butchered.

There are wires that have been cut or unplugged and wrapped up. No idea where they go. Have traced some down but not others. My kid is going to be driving it so want it to be safe.

If you want new harnesses, I would suggest going to Fusick (www.fusick.com). They have an on-line catalog and you can be pretty sure that what you are ordering is what you want for your car.

There are a few aftermarket harness builders. One that comes to mind is American Autowire. The aftermarket resto suppliers all sell them, Fusicks, OPGI, Yearone, etc...

I bought a new dash and ignition harness for my 67 442 from Lectric Limited. Their harnesses are as good as any. I have had several of their harnesses in my Vette for many years with no problems. They are made to factory specs and are plug and play. I had the one for the Olds converted to accomodate HEI. I think American auto wire are probaly just as good, theres another company does the same but the name escapes me at the moment. Im sure prices are about the same.

I have used American Autowire and M&H Electrical Fabricators and found both to be very good. I've replaced all harnesses except the dash and will begin working on it this week.

Interested to hear how your replacement went and if you had to remove the dash to replace the dash harness.
