I know for a fact my 83 GMC truck I’m working on has pink and white wires for the washer. I’m guessing anything with an electric washer pump would be the same

The reason I asked is the Trico 11515 replacement pump for the mechanical washer pump has many notes on which wire go where, and only talk about pink and white wires. My 71 cruiser has yellow and blue.

The yellow and blue I believe powered the solenoid to engage the mechanical washer. Use a test light, with the key on check for power on the yellow wire. Then check for continuity to ground with the wash button pressed. Good luck

Thanks for the reply, all the wiring and switch are good , what I am curious about is why the 11515 is listed as not compatible with the 71 cruiser.
