Upgrading neutral safety switch/back up lite switch

Hi all. I'm building a 1957 Olds super 88 w/the addition of a 455" and a 4L80E overdrive Trans. I would love to keep my '57 steering column so every thing inside appears stock. My problem is trying to adapt a neutral safety/Back-up light switch to the column that works with the new shift pattern. Has anyone ever done this or does anyone know if there is a column mounted switch that will fit the 2 3/4" column? I'm also using a Ron francis wiring kit so the wiring should be no problem. many thanks for any advice. WFG4U@aol.com

Starting in the middle of the 1995 model year and up, the 4L80E has a park/neutral switch mounted on the side of the case. You can simply use that one. There is a lot of info on the web about how to wire the PN switch with relays to serve the NSS and backup light functions.
