can anybody help me get started on this??? kind of looking for some direction I have a delta 88 (same column setup and a cutlass) and want to install a new signal lever in, my car is also equipped with cruise.

 

What year is the Delta 88 and did it come with the signal level ? Are you replacing the old one?

The service manual has a good explanation but mine is at home.

I think removal on the steering wheel is required, at least that's what I was told

 

It almost looks too easy - no steery wheel removal required!

The IP sound insulator is the under dash panel. The cruise switch harness is thin with about 4-5 wires on it.

You may substitute "mechanic's wire" for regular wire. Something thin and flexible to attach to the cruise connector which will be drawn up through the column upon removal. The new switch connector will be connected to the wire and gently pulled back down through the column. Tape the connector and wire in a triangular way to reduce the chance of it hanging up on anything (avoid 90* or square angles).

Before pulling the stalk, note the position of it so you can reinstall it in the same orientation.
