Trunk release electrical wiring - 69 Cutlass
I picked up an electric trunk release for my 69 Cutlass and am wondering how the wiring is run. I assume it is run up the passenger side of the car, then under the carpet or sill plates then through the trunklid somehow. I looked in the Fisher Body manual and couldn't find something showing how they ran it. I figure I'll get it to the trunk and tie to the hinge and then wonder if I run through the space between the lid and the inner panel? And pics would help.
thanks,
Steve

Trunk release
The power trunk releases on the 1969 Cutlass models were vacuum operated, not electric. If you have all the correct gear for an electric set up, you will need to get info from a subsequent year model.
FWIW, the vacuum lines on the 1969 models run down the passenger side, up the hinge, and weave through the trunk deck supports to the latch, similar to what you describe.

I was aware that originally they were vacuum but am more comfortable going electric. I'm trying to fish the wore through the deck supports but not so easy. It gets hung up internally. I'll keep playing with my wire hanger and hope to get lucky. Thanks for your response.

Here is the routing of the trunk release vac lines on my 69 Cutlass convertible. It comes up the right side of the car into the trunk, clips to the hinge, then enters/exits the trunk lid as shown, wrapping around the exterior channels. As you said, a coat hanger will likely be your friend as you bridge between the access holes. I have replaced that hose and it was not that bad.
