How do I go about removing the tail light sockets on a 71 cutlass and where can I find replacements ?

They should be crimped to the pod. Mine were not corroded so I didn't have to remove them - just cleaned them up. However to remove them you need to lift the crimp on the inside of the pod enough to let the socket slide out the back. Use a flatblade screwdriver and lift up a little bit of the crimp at a time as you work your way around it. Replacement 'universal' sockets available here or here not very expensive.

Cool thanks for the help, that's exactly what all I needed to know. One of mines is crap and the rest look salvageable but for those prices I will just replace all of them and be done with it
