Question about my tach with standard point ignition. My tach always reads very high every time. Any thoughts? Thanks

 

I moved your post to it's own thread because it really isn't related to a thread about a Pertronix ignition. In your case the only option is that the tach needs to be recalibrated. Are you sure this isn't set for a six cylinder engine? For example, on the six cylinder setting, a tach would read about 4000 RPM when the V8 engine was turning 3000.
