So the agony continues! The shop called and said the needle for the tachometer was not on the tac - I said it was yesterday. Turns out it fell off while they were working on it. How does that little pointer get attached to the tiny wire in a 70 tic toc tac? I'm thinking a dab of glue would work.

and in all reality I could see this happening, tach has been in two different shops for over 2 years. What really bothers me is this mechanic knows what I have been through with the body shop and then when I show up to look at the tach and say "it was in there yesterday" he looks at me crossed-eyed like I'm the idiot . Then insists his guys wouldn't have banged it around or lost it. So I went looking around the car and the great irony was while he was telling me it couldn't be anywhere near the car he found it on the ground just outside the drivers door.
