starting an engine outside the car

Ok, I have a remote starter switch with two leads. were do they go to fire up and engine out side of a vehicle?
Do I need more than the two leads? I know me and Beeter had one almost going but for the life of me can't remember what we did.

You need constant 12 volts to the starter, and switched 12 volts to the distributor.

You technically don't even need the starter switch, I have used a screwdriver to bridge the 2 starter terminals together.

See video.

Well, It's turning over great! But for some reason, I have no spark. Am I missing something here?
Replaced a cracked distributor cap, replaced the rotor, still nothing.
