starter wiring tube

1967 442. Missing non-conductive tube, located drivers side top of frame, above brake distribution block. Have original bracket, clamp on car. Battery cable, from drivers side wheel well terminal block, along with the purple (crank), and yellow (run) wires are through the clamp. Eventually these will chafe. I purchased a tube from Brandon Reynolds, but alas his are 1/2" larger than the 66-67's. He questioned me on the proper size, my bad. My 67 assembly manual has an illustrated parts breakdown in section 12, page 1.23. There are three pictures . One says: SM&FS 442 only, another says: HMT starter cable routing, third picture says: SM&FS starter cable wiring. Mine is like picture three.

I have three questions. The most important one for me is: What are the tube dimensions? (ID, OD, and length) Brandon says he can make some. Next, what does SM&FS stand for? What does HMT stand for? SM: standard manual? FS: four speed? HMT: Hydromatic manual transmission's?

I think the correct p/n for my tube is 397769 which was a replacement for 567850.

Thanks in advance for all info and hard searching for these dimensions.

George, in south Alabama.

battery tube

Battery Tube. I have one of Brandon's. Unfortunately the 67's are smaller. So his doesn't fit. If I can get the dimensions to him he can make me one. Thanks for the response, and like Joe says "search is my friend".
