Replica Batteries of the 50's

Any one know where I can find an excellent replica Battery from the 50' era?

I have seen replica batteries at car shows with red or yellow caps. One guy told me that his was filled with gel, and maintenance free. (A new technology battery in an old style casing). I am wondering how good they really are.

You can get "old style" batteries from Kanter. I don't know how well they work but I've never heard of Kanter selling junk.

I'll take a look. Thanks
I'm still wondering about the quality of these replica batteries. And would appreciate any feedback.

This is their list of GM repro batteries and your 57 uses http://www.antiqueautobattery.com/60kdelco.htm.

If you go this route I strongly recommend one of these http://batterytender.com/automotive.html to go with it for times the car isn't used regularly. My four-port Battery Tender is the single best investment I ever made for my old cars. You can often get them cheaper at swap meets when they do show specials.

I know people who have successfully used gel-cell batteries in old cars, but based on a disastrous high-dollar-damage incident involving gel-cell batteries at my job, I am very leery of them.

Thanks for the tip on the battery tender and link to the battery. I have a 12V battery tender that works great and know what you mean. Everything stays charged up nicely.
