removing fuse box

i am working on a 1980 cutlass calais and am having electrical problems,so i thought i would remove the fuse box because i noticed a lot of crud and rust and i would assume a few melted wires. i took the two screws out and unplugged the wires it just won't come loose,i didn't want to break anything, this is confusing, help.....

in the older models I am more fmiliar with, you unscrew the engine side two blocks and unplug them, then the bulkhead with internal wires can be removed towards the seats after removing the 2 screws holding the fusebox/ bulkhead to the firewall.

can you go to a boneyard and look at one that you don't care so much about, maybe has less stuff in the way?

thanks i finally figured it out,it would be nice if they made those bolts easy to get to and all the same size. got the wiper out and boy was that bottom bolt a pain, when i took the wiring plug off it was crispy.
