Ralley Pak gas gage quit working
all gages have been working fine, now I noticed the fuel gage always goes up beyound full. I think that means it's grounded, so even when I unhook the leads in the trunk, it still goes to full, QUESTION; where do I check it under the dash ? If I remember, it has a flat multiple connector....so.... what's the best way here ? which one is power ? which one is the ground or sender ?

If the sender line is open, gauge will read past full.
Short the tan gas gauge wire to ground in the trunk and see if it goes to empty. If it does, then either the sending unit is not making good ground, OR the sender itself is bad.

shorting it to ground akes no difference, still reads full....so.... the wire to the sender is open somewhere ? which wire at the gage can I ground ?

Pull the gauge and ground the tan one right at the connector (without disconnecting anything), assuming this is a 70-72 A body. You may need a very thin stiff wire to get in there around the tan wire. It is between the gray and blue - it has NO white stripe.
Here is a reference picture:

can I reach up in there and ground the tan wire without pulling the gage to unplug it , ?? with a paper clip or something ?
