Parking brake light

I have a 79 cutlass that has been modified wiring wise. P.O. put in a painless wiring kit along with a custom dash

my question is did these cars come with a emergency brake light switch ? That would turn on a light on the dash ?
I don’t see a switch on the pedal

But, since the car has an aftermarket Painintheass harness, all bets are off.

I'd look underhood to make sure the brake differential pressure switch is still wired in.
thanks. I will check

Here is a picture of the parking brake assembly, showing the switch. This side is against the kick panel when installed. Essentially, the dark side of the moon! The switch contact can be reached with some difficulty (headstand in the floorboard, etc.) to connect the wire to it. When the brake is engaged, the switch closes. This grounds the circuit, turning on the interior brake light. Releasing the brake obviously opens the switch, turning the light off.
