They did. Combination warning lamp to 1) indicate pressure loss in either half of the brake hydraulic circuit and 2) to show the parking brake is engaged. The factory harness has a pin switch on the parking brake bracket.
But, since the car has an aftermarket Painintheass harness, all bets are off.
I'd look underhood to make sure the brake differential pressure switch is still wired in.
Here is a picture of the parking brake assembly, showing the switch. This side is against the kick panel when installed. Essentially, the dark side of the moon! The switch contact can be reached with some difficulty (headstand in the floorboard, etc.) to connect the wire to it. When the brake is engaged, the switch closes. This grounds the circuit, turning on the interior brake light. Releasing the brake obviously opens the switch, turning the light off.
