Original battery cable spring clip newbie

I just purchased a set of the old style spring clip battery cables. I have never used this type of cable,I've always had the bolt on for top post batterys. does anyone have experience with these. Im worried I wont get a good connection over time. They just seem like they wont make as good of a connection as the bolt style. thanks for any input!

Many of us are experienced with these type of connectors on our original cars. For myself, I never recall any problems with poor connection, even starting my 455 at -20°F.

Today many batteries are AGM type that don't leak acid everywhere as the original wet batteries did. That gives even less reason to be concerned about corrosion or failed connection.

I've had them on my '68 since 2007 (finished restoration then) and they still work fine. I just put a new set on my '69 last year when I finished restoration on it. No problems as far as I am concerned.
