I think I have found my problem as why my trans does not kick down into passing gear.
71 cutlass conv.
350 trans
Where the cable attaches to the gas pedal. the clip is not in the right place so it never engages the gear.
My question is there a trick for moving the clip or just pry apart with pliers and squeeze back together. Or am I missing a part. I have the service manuel so I know the measurements on where to put it. It is only about an inch and half off.
