Neutral Safety switch

Just wondering the procedure to by pass the Neutral safety switch to see if the car will start before I replace it? I know there are two purple wires on the conection and was wondering if you aligator clip these together to by pass it or just unplug the connection.

Thanks

Pull the plug and use a thick wire to jump across the two purple wires. Make sure it is a secure connection and secure it away from any metal parts of the car before attempting to crank it.
