I bought this negative battery cable from Fusick.
Description: Negative Battery Cable, 1966 400 V8, 1967 all
I went to install and then noticed that the pig tail was connected to the engine block end and not the battery post end. I thought this pig tail was supposed to ground the headlight area but it does not seem long enough to do so. Can anyone tell me where exactly this pigtail connects?
That is what I thought was the case. I will have to check to see if it is long enough. The pig tail on this harness is off the end that goes to the engine. The 68 and newer have the pig tail going of of the terminal end.
My car is a non a/c car so the alternator is on the right side so this would never reach. Maybe I'll call on Fusick. Now that you bring that up though, my alternator harness only had the positive lug and the the push on connector. There is nothing on the ground lug other than a harness strap. See image of back of alternator before I removed anything.
I think I may have figured out where the pig tail goes. This image shows a machine screw in the left wheel well that line up pretty good and there is no other purpose for the screw that I can figure.
